GBP-Mentor-Protege

About The Mentor-Protégé Program

AFF Research, LLC, administrators of the Green Bay Packer Mentor-Protégé Program, is committed to the continuing success of the program and to the community of businesses that benefit from it.

The Mentor-Protégé Program was designed to pair established businesses (mentors) with emerging businesses (protégés) to provide the protégé with industry specific knowledge, business exposure, training, materials, and resources that they cannot easily attain on their own. Mentors use their own expertise and time to aid the Protégé in their development and growth.

MENTORS

Mentors must be established companies of good character, with a willingness to commit to the program. They must be able to provide valuable resources to meet the developmental needs of a protégé company. Qualified mentors will have a senior level officer willing to provide feedback and meet regularly with the assigned protégé, as well as attend quarterly meetings and other program events.

PROTÉGÉS

Protégés must be emerging companies of good character that have been in business for at least two years, with a focus on businesses owned by minorities, women, veterans, or any other small businesses. They must be willing to work with an appointed mentor to assess critical areas in need of assistance and have the time, resources and capability to participate in the program and attend program meetings and events.

“The Mentor Protégé Program helped us create a complete solid foundation. When we started the program, we knew we were good at what we do, but our mentor showed us how to use those skills in growing our business. Being part of the program helped us complete that solid foundation and gave us the confidence to grow our current business and start another company.”

Tricia Ascher, Ascher’s Janitorial Services
2013 Protégé

“Participating in the Green Bay Packers Mentor-Protégé Program provided me with access to experts who shared their wealth of knowledge to help me grow my business. Through this partnership, I learned how to better manage my time and improve my financial planning. The confidence I gained through this experience allowed me to seek out new opportunities to showcase my business.”

Gail Okray, Key Elements Healing Arts Center
2012 Protégé

"The Green Bay Packer Mentor Protégé program changed my business life and my business for the absolute better. I feel so blessed to have been paired with Mike Nackers of Schreiber Foods. Mike helped me transition from “self-employed” to business owner by helping me identify and meet my goals of expanding my business to create jobs. When I started the program, KCC, Inc. had 1 contract that employed 1 full and 1 part-time employees. After the year in the Mentor Protégé program, we were up to 4 contracts that employed 2 full and 2 part-time employees. Currently we have 9 contracts and 9 employees on staff and thanks to the program, we look forward to more staff expansion in the future. The Green Bay Packers Mentor-Protégé program made all the difference in the world with my business. I will always be grateful for the opportunity to participate."
